File 005: Attempting Face-ups
Vikas gets to be my 'test' doll of sorts- he'll be the one who has to put up with my attempts in learning to string, sand, blush, etc etc. I'd planned on redoing his face-up since I'd ordered him, since the default that he came with was much too delicate for my taste. (And his personality!) So four days after his arrival, he lost his head while I went to work. ^__^
His default make-up. It does show up a bit darker in person, but even so, I'd like his eyebrows to be a bit more defined than that as well as blush him up a bit.
After stripping away the coating and paints with nail polish remover, I let him soak in a cup of water and dish detergent to make sure he was nice and clean.
His now blank face, coated and ready to paint!
Progress shot. I'd made three or four other attempts before this, but they all had failed miserably. Painting on his eyebrows prooved to require muuuch more presicion than my hands and supplies could do at the moment, so I drew in his brows with colored pencils instead. Much better that way. ^^
After painting in his lips wth acrylics and adding some blushing. I'd coated him at this point, but then decided to touch the blush up a little moe and make it a bit more dramatic around the eyes.
And Viola! The finished product. It's far from perfect, but not bad for a first try I guess. ^^ I like this look much better than his default- the darker features give him much more of a personailty. =D
Leigh: So, how do you like it? ^^
Vikas: Bring me a mirror and I'll tell you then, you moron. XD
Vikas: I think you're trying to turn me into a little goth kid, aren't you...? *glares*
Leigh: Er... no? *looks around* >>
Now he needs eyelashes and a pair of glass eyes, and he'll be set! ^^
